3 minute wicker man on YouTube is a far superior version of the remake.

1982 John carpenter's the thing is a remake of the thing from another world. Both taken from the book "who goes there?"

The one a couple of years ago was a prequel to the 1982. Eevm8if it was basically the same film with none of the tension and worse special effects. The only bits I liked were the ones that had direct links to the 82 version

Just remembered, the re-make of Rollerball from 2002, (many did not even rate the original), was really spectacularly bad.

Available on Amazon for £1.13.The original (1975) is still £4.65.

I'm not even going to post a link to the re-make in case somebody clicks it by mistake.

The Last of Sheila. One of the greatest mystery / whodunit films of the 1970s with a very creepy James Coburn.

A new version is currently in production.

Ghost in the Shell. The original is perfect and does not a hollywood remake with Scarlet Jo-fucking-hansson playing Motoko Kusanagi is a horrible idea.

I'm sure it will be as bad if not worse than the Oldboy remake.

The recent remake of The Thing.
It was especially ironic and the John Carpenter version was a perfect lesson in how to do a remake in the first place,

I wouldn't be surprised to see The Long Good Friday remade. Of course it would be set in Brooklyn, Harold would be played by Vin Diesel, Helen Mirren's role of Victoria would be taken on by Kim Kardashian and Charlie Fairhead would be replaced by Benedict Cumberbatch.

In the final scene Vin gurns in the back of an helicopter as ISIL terrorists point a gun at him, but he escapes into a waiting speedboat piloted by Idris Elba and Owen Wilson before blowing the A-rabs to hell with an RPG. "Diabolical liberties" Vin mutters as the fireball crashes into the Statue.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show has just been rehashed too.

Beyond pointless, apart from making money of course..
